For a lot of us that have been around for a long time gaming together, we pretty much know each other very well, but please share a bit about yourself, your gaming background & interests / etc. If you're new to the site as well, that way we can know a bit about you your interests as well.

I'm from Bluffton, IN. I now live & work in Fort Wayne. I've been married for 10 years. I'm currently employed as Project Manager--3D Designer--Shipping & Logistics--Receptionist--Customer Support--IT Support in the Tradeshow Industry. Rolling Eyes I'm trained as a tooling engineer...

Hardware History:

Ages 3-8: Atari 2600
Ages 8-11: NES
Ages 11-14: NES, Tandy 1000hx 16Mhz (w/Turbo) Razz
Ages 14-18: SNES, Genesis, Packard Bell 486DX
Ages 18-21: N64, Packard Bell 486DX
Ages 21-24: N64, eMachines Celeron 350 with VooDoo 2
Ages 24-26: Xbox, Athlon 1800+ with GeForce 4 Ti4600
Ages 26-Present: Dropped the console BS & fully PC now.

Key videogames throughout my life, as I remember them:

Single-player & small group of friends:

Combat!, Pong, Burgertime, Pac-man, Every NES game I could rent, Wolfenstein 3D, The Red Baron, Sim City, Final Fantasy 2, Super Mario 3, Sonic the Hedgehog, Every SNES & Genesis game I could rent, ____ Quest (King's, Space, etc.), Monkey Island, Gunship2000, Silent Service 2, F117a Stealth Fighter, A10 Tank Killer, Super Faceball 2000, Street Fighter 2, Mortal Kombat.

Multiplayer & large group of friends

N64 Goldeneye 007 - Unstoppable as Baron Semedi (seriously, people cussed)

PC Starcraft/Broodwar - Nearly unstoppable as Terrans with Wraith-swarm (damn you Fro!)

Unreal Tournament - Joust-sniping. Nearly unstoppable using sniper rifle as assault weapon. HEADSHOT! (until Reaper telefragged me)

Xbox Halo - Unstoppable on the vehicle maps (how the !@#$ did you get that ghost/warthog in/out/up/down here?) This is the game from which I derive my gamer-nick. I named my avatar "Paco", just because. One opponent fancied himself the best Halo player ever... I repeatedly stomped him, prompting him to repeatedly call me an a-hole. For spite, I added "Bedejo" because it gets past filters, but still pronounces similarly to the Spanish slang for a-hole, which further infuriated him.

World of Warcraft - Uber altaholic. Hate raiding & PvP. (This game stole my gaming soul. Lost a lot of LAN competitiveness)

EVE Online - Toyed with this game for years. Hate the PvP, love equipping the ships, hate the slow-paced gameplay. Current MMO though.

I now enjoy playing good* RTSs such as C&C Generals/Tiberium Wars, AOE3, etc as well as good* FPSs such as ET:QW & COD4.

* - Good, in these cases, refers to my interpretation of the term, which all are to refer to as truth. Razz

All in all, I'm a big, tall, goofy lookin' guy that enjoys good LAN competition & I get whiny when things aren't going my way. Just tell me to shut up Razz

I grew up in Avilla, IN and moved to Huntertown a few years ago. Then I got married on Oct. 3rd, 2009 (a couple weeks ago) and moved to Leo, IN.

I started with NES, then Commodore 64, then an Acer Aspire PC (it was cool, it was black before everything else was black. Then a Playstation and an Xbox. I bought a Falcon Northwest several years ago as my last retail desktop, then custom built my nest few machines (and a few for friends) Then in the last couple of years I've been using HP Pavilion laptops as my only machines.

I'm sort of a hybrid casual/hardcore gamer. I've never really been the best at any game or game type, and enjoy flash games almost as much as "real" games sometimes. I started out gaming at my grandpa's funeral over in Cleveland when I was around 8 years old. The funeral director figured I was bored so he took me downstairs to his office where a few other boys were playing Wolfenstein 3d and I hung out there for the next couple of hours playing that. Then I got addicted. The next "big" games were Duke Nukem 3D and Daggerfall. Still two of my favorite all-time games. I still love the Elder Scroll series and look forward to the next game (that isn't announced, but I'm sure they'll make one.) My favorite games tend to be single player RPGs, but it also really nice to get together with some guys and frag each other in a FPS (like ET:QW) or build/destroy in a RTS. Feel free to tell me to shut up when I get whiny that I suck at whatever game we are playing because there is a good chance my name will be at the middle or bottom of the list. I'll can be streaky when it comes to gaming. Sometimes I'll game way too late into the night, every night, other times I'll go months without playing anything.

I've worked at IPFW since 2001 doing computer install/repair for them and like my job. It has it's days, but overall it is good. I also like reading, movies, music, cars, outdoor sports/adventures, traveling, and other things. I'm sort of a jack-of-all trades, master of none. I can help you with a lot of different things, but I couldn't tell you what or how to do something. I can swing a hammer, but I can't tell you where to put the nail. I have an A.A. in General Studies and am working towards a B.S. in EET/CPET at IPFW, but it will be a while before that happens.

Did I mention that I just got married? That is awesome! I love my wife...everyone should have a wife like mine Smile

Edit: P.S. I don't look like the avatar (although that would be awesome!) I'm the average looking guy (middle height, overweight, balding white boy with the goofy smile) that drives the big white (noisy) truck. Give me a call if you need something moved (Reaper did!)

I guess I should put a little info about me, too, then Very Happy .

I've always been in to computers I guess you could say. I wrote my first GW-BASIC program (a miniature game) when I was 9 and have picked up many programming languages along the way. Now I work from home for a company that writes credit union software. Actually I guess I can just stop there and say if you've seen Office Space that is along the lines of what I do, minus the whole money laundering bit Very Happy . I've had jobs in computer sales, hardware, networking, and worked for a while at OnlyInternet (when they were still Parlor City Internet), and only Family PC's (now known as FPC Technology Group). Oh, I also take on side projects so if you need something programming related done I'd be happy to talk with you.

Gaming.. I don't get a chance to game nearly as often as I would like to anymore, most of my gaming happens at LAN parties. With being married & two young kids (3-1/2 & 1-1/2) and trying to make ends meet it can be rough to find time to game but I look at games as the ultimate stress relief. I enjoy playing about any game that has a low learning curve mostly because I want to pick up the game & have fun, the tactics come along the way. Currently Demigod is my favorite LAN game though TF2 is still a close second. Lots of games coming out real soon that may change that all around!

Alright! Another CoH player. If you're going to Columbia City on the 5th, make sure you hit me up. I'll play that with you.

My name is Seth and I am 23. I was born in Fort Wayne, but we moved to Columbia City when I was three, so I don't have too many memories of living there. I am still living in Columbia City as a college graduate of IU-Bloomington with a Bachelors in Informatics and no full-time job. Currently working on several small IT related projects for people and looking diligently for something full-time.

I started as an SNES gamer then onto 64. My friend (known as Slurms) is to blame for getting me hooked on PC gaming. I enjoy FPS games mostly which is where I started, Counter Strike 1.5 being my first PC game. Valve games have always stuck close to me and I love them all. But I also love a good RTS game here and there: Age of Empires2, Company of Heroes, and just recently League of Legends have me hooked.

I also have a PS3 which I mostly use to play Blu-rays and GTA. Or something else that it can randomly do (which seems to keep growing).

I am looking forward to meeting the Fort Wayne gamers at our Columbia City LAN in December!

I'm Andrew. Been playing computer games since my father brought home a Tandy 1000 from Radio Shack in the 80s. I still remember when we later upgraded the computer and added a 20 megabyte hard drive. Woohoo!

Born in Chicago, mostly grew up around Ossian and Bluffton. Went to Norwell, worked with Reaper at what is now OnlyInternet in Bluffton.

Went to Purdue (Indy) for Computer Science, then law school in Dayton, and presently work for the man.

I'll play any computer game out there, but prefer FPS, RTS, and RPGs. I used to play WOW, but I got tired of paying to play a game each month, and the level of dedication it took to have any fun in the game. I just picked up Dragon Age this week, and it seems to be a great RPG with some WOW flavor as far as gameplay, but entirely single player.

Hi. My name is Justin. I'm 26 years old and from Huntertown, IN. I work for Parkview Health as an analyst. I've been gaming since 1996 with Diablo/Starcraft/Quake 1. I've played in competitive LAN tournaments across the country for 1.6 CS/CS:S and most recently TF2 with Digital Jedi. I beta tested and played the original Everquest and still have an active account to this day Mad I've played WoW, but I try to stay away from the MMOs because they are huge time consumers. My steam name is metsada1337, add me if you'd like. I tend to play the following games:

L4D2
Borderlands
TF2
MW2
Quake Live

I primarily play TF2 and would like to help a local team out (if there are any). I can play any class (except Medic), but my primaries are scout/sniper/soldier.

Hi, metsada, welcome to the group. How long have you worked for Parkview? One of our members that doesn't come online a lot is in the IT/IS department there I believe in a management position. FWG doesn't have an official clan in any game because there hasn't been enough interest expressed in doing something consistent like that. However, the LanOC people do run a TF2 server which some of us hop on from time-to-time. If you see me on TF2 or L4D2 feel free to join up!!

Hope you can make it to the Dec 5 party hosted by Arrested Development Clan. Likely won't be til January at this point til we have another FWG get together or Headhunter's bday LAN in February.

I'd be interested in forming a Fort Wayne/LAN OC TF2 team. I'm not really sure what a team would do (i can't think of any tourneys for TF2 since it's an older game) But i feel i'm a pretty strong Heavy/Medic and can pyro with the best of them.
I'm thinking we could find servers online to play at a team against other teams. Much like PVP works in the MMO's.

I am interested as well. It'd have to be after 10 PM on a weeknight for me but other than that I'm in.
