Any of you that have Frontier Fios, do you have or know if the Wireless N Version is out? I seem to be getting conflicting information on it. A Frontier person in early June said it was to be avaliable in July/August. Now I'm being told that one doesnt exist for Fios Customers or on the Copper side.

Mine is N. But really I'm sure it's luck of the draw. If you don't get one for free, you can always pick up a cheapie and then clone the MAC address, that's their only form of security.

Your Fios Actiontec Router is Wireless N or do you have copper aka DSL with something like a Westell? They told me that I could get a Wireless N Router, but only if i was on DSL? If you truely have Fios and an Actiontec Router or the equivalent, I might request you send me a picture of it? lol. So i can prove to them and not keep getting the run around..

Actiontec Router = Wireless N, and I have 25/25 FIOS. That said I am in New Haven. Perhaps they give us the better stuff.
SpeedTest:
Actiontec admin page, specifically a page where I can change the radio's tx/rx mode.
Model name in the Actiontec admin is MI424WR-GEN2, hardware version F.

I'll check mine when I get home. I'm thinking it is N, since it's only 3 months old.

I just checked and mine is an N router as well. I'll be turning it into a dumb coax to ethernet converter tonight when I install a good router.

Who do you have phone service with, just cell-phones?
Turns out since mine is about 2-3 months old I have Wireless N. I just checked. Performance still seems crappy. I bridged a D-Link 615 I got about 4 years ago and the performance of that one seemed better. Might end up using that one.
What bothers me, is that Frontier Fios, doesnt seem to know what hey are putting out?

Yes, actually I have 2 lines with Vonage - home and work. Might be dropping the home line soon, starting to get my wife less opposed to the idea of just making sure she's carrying her cell phone. The work line I'll keep mostly because I'm required to have one

You could do Magic Jack. But I really don't think I'd be doing it. It just doesnt seem far enough along the lines of how vonage is.

The ones that have replied do you have an suggestions on tweaking if for maximum performance? Besides, making sure its away from sources of interference, changing different channels in it?
I've got it on compatibility mode, do you think it could be set to Wireless N Performance mode and work on newer Wireless G Products?
